Technical Consulting

Our consultations range from short phone calls to very in depth set visits. Any bit of science can help to make a story feel more real and potentially lead to new plot ideas. Our experts volunteer to connect with filmmakers, sometimes they can become paid consultants. It's The Exchange's job to make the connection and to ensure that everyone has a positive experience, but we don't serve as agents for scientists or negotiate on their behalf. We simply serve as a bridge between two fascinating communities.

Technical Consulting Overview

Our scientists have volunteered to help you understand the science behind elements of your storylines and put them into the context of your fictional work. We’re happy to connect you with people who will help ground your ideas into real world concepts for a more consistent storyline.

Are they going to go on to be rock stars or rappers or are they going to go onto be the people who propel us out of the solar system and I think it’s very important that we not undervalue the necessity of it being the latter."
